A short course in everyday computer support

Learn to fix it yourself, and to help the people who call you.

Seven short modules and six practice labs teach the habits that solve most everyday computer problems: the safe-first order, describing a problem, spotting tech support scams, Wi-Fi, accounts, backups, and helping someone else. Each module ends with a four-question check; each lab puts you in a realistic situation and scores the choices you make.

01

Short lessons

Each module takes about four or five minutes, check included, and covers one thing well. No jargon without an explanation, and nothing that asks you to open a computer case.

02

Practice labs

Work through a scary pop-up, a laptop with no internet, a slow PC, a phishing email, a missing file or an offline printer. Every ending explains what was right or risky.

Your record

With a free account your quiz scores and lab results are saved. Pass holders can print a one-page course record. It is a record of your progress here, not a certification.

What this is, and is not

Computer Support Foundation teaches. It does not fix your computer, nobody here will connect to it, and it never asks for remote access. If you need hands-on help, the course tells you when to stop and take it to a qualified repair shop. The "foundation" in the name means the basics: this is a paid service run by WeldonPC, not a charity.
